Pornhub Partners With Esteemed Sexology Research Groups and The Museum of Sex To Create SexType.Me, First Research-based Sexual Personality Test

With Direction from Professor Lee Silver (Princeton University) and The Kinsey Institute , Researchers Aim to Use Pornhub’s Massive Audience to Learn More on Contemporary Sexual Habits, How they Relate to Common Personality Traits and Benchmarks Results with Select Porhub Models

NEW YORK (Nov. 23, 2021) – Pornhub, the premier online destination for adult entertainment, announced today the expansion of SexType.Me, the largest sexual personality survey ever done. Originally produced by the Museum of Sex with technology from molecular biologist Lee Silver (Professor, Princeton University) and Kristen Mark (University of Minnesota and the Kinsey Institute), SexType.Me utilizes sophisticated analytical techniques used for genomic research to discover sexual personality traits, aka ‘sexual dimensions.’ Additional features allow participants to compare their sexual personality to friends and lovers, and also discover Pornhub Models that share their sexual personality traits.

As the sample set of participants grows, SexType.Me will discover new sexual dimensions. Leveraging Pornhub’s massive user base, SexType.Me will expand its user base exponentially and periodically announce new, significant discoveries. Completing the survey will also allow the sexual personality of consenting participants to be directly compared and matched with those of Pornhub Models such as Asa Akira, Kira Noir, Angela White, Keiran Lee, Jordi El Niño Polla, Charlotte Sartre, Aubrey Kate, MySweetApple, LuxuryGirl, MissLexa, Mini Diva, Lil D, June Liu, Jade Kush, Jkab Ethan Dale.

Besides discovering new personality traits, this research project aims to help individuals learn more about their complete and complex sexual identity, and help researchers understand whether sexual personality traits are linked to well-known characteristics such as extroversions or empathy; or are unrelated domains of mental expression. It also aims to empower participants to understand their sexual nature, start dialogues with partner(s) and lead a more authentic sexual relationship. The test takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

“We know from classical era writings that personality tests have been around for at least 2,000 years. Their premise has been that a comprehensive view of a person can be inferred from a small number of two-sided descriptors, like extroverted versus introverted or impulsive versus cautious. But legitimate surveys have failed to acknowledge the existence of a whole class of personality descriptors – those that have some connection to individual differences in sexuality. The SexType.Me survey will be the first of its kind to look into sexual personality descriptors,” said Professor Lee Silver. “Thanks to Pornhub’s collaboration and tremendous reach, we will be able to collect enough responses to obtain meaningful results that help analyze sexual personalities. Once the survey receives a sufficient number of participants, we will use computational tools developed for research in human genetics to sort out the hidden features of both traditional and sexual personality and how they commune with each other.”

Until recently, many Americans would stifle their sexual desires out of shame or embarrassment. More than half — 54% — of LGBTQ Americans have hidden a personal relationship to avoid discrimination. Sextype.Me can be used to help participants understand where they are in their sexual journey. Pornhub and The Museum of Sex seek to remove the taboo around sex and help individuals learn more about their complete and complex sexuality

SexType.Me won’t be around forever, with the site closing as soon as a meaningful sample size has been reached. Participants will need to act fast if they want to see who their Pornhub Model matches are.

SexType.Me builds upon Pornhub’s longstanding commitment to assisting its audience with understanding its sexual preferences, personalities and practices. Pornhub has previously launched a Sexual Wellness Center, working with licensed sex therapists and various types of specialists including Dr. Laurie Betito, Director of the Pornhub Sexual Wellness Center. The SWC is designed to help adults learn about all aspects of sexual wellness including, STIs, anatomy, trans health, and the importance of communication during sex.

To help encourage participation in SexType.Me, Pornhub will promote the project on its site, which gets 130 million visitors daily. The participating models, who have large social followings, will also be promoting SexType.Me on their social channels. After the survey is complete, researchers will share findings on the Pornhub Sexual Wellness Center. Researchers also intend to publish their findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
